About Us

Hollydogs Greyhound Adoption is non-profit 501(c)3 organization that is entirely supported by volunteers and donations. Established in March of 1995 for the purpose of finding responsible homes for South Florida retired racing greyhounds and to educate the public about the plight of these amazing animals and the vital importance of controlling pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering all pets. We rescue, rehabilitate and socialize ex- racers. Once they are ready to be adopted, we profiled them and match their personality traits with adoptive families lifestyles. Our goal is to find qualified, loving, forever homes. We provide counseling and support for life to the families that adopt a greyhound. Many greyhounds are still euthanized because there are not enough homes for all them. Unfortunately, Florida is the state with most racetracks, more than the rest of the country combined. We have created, "Greyhounds Going Home", a program that allows surplus greyhounds to be transported to non racing states. It has successfully transported more than 500 dogs throughout the country to responsible adoption centers and continues its goal of saving more lives.  We have created a Greyhound Heaven in the SW Florida area, Hollydogs Greyhound Sanctuary and Adoption Center in Bonita Springs. HGA main adoption office is located in Hollywood, Florida and our Greyhound Sanctuary and holding facility is located in Bonita Springs, Florida. All adoption applications are processed by the Hollywood office through our toll free number 1-877-Ex-Racer or our website www.hollydogs.org. We are very fortunate to have a group of very dedicated volunteers and the invaluable support and generosity of the community.
